Review of Chappie (2015) by Bill Goodykoontz for Arizona Republic — 05 Mar 2015
Blomkamp regular Sharlto Copley is quite good — as Chappie, in a motion-capture performance. (He also provides the voice of the robot.) If this were somehow a commentary on man's increasing lack of humanity or something, that would be fine.
Instead, it's just good work buried inside a movie made up of intriguing ideas that never really go anywhere.
