Review of Chappie (2015) by Brodie A — 09 Jan 2016
Chappie is set in a futuristic world that has a robotic police force. A few gangsters are in need of a robot to help with a heist. They capture the creator of the robots the same time the creator discovered how to give consciousness to his robots. Chappie is born and is the first of his kind that can think and feel. He learns about the world and becomes a target.
Chappie is an extremely emotional movie with a much deeper meaning than just another futuristic robot movie. I cried during a lot of the scenes. There's a deep religious undertone about human existence. But Chappie is also silly at times and gave me a few laughs in between my crying spells. I would definitely recommend watching Chappie.
