Review of Chappie (2015) by Adam J — 03 Nov 2017
I'm reading some of the reviews and laughing. For those that do not understand that the world is in control by criminals in this movie, and has to show that then not sure what to say. This is another solid movie, one review says the two criminals is the focus, what were you watching? I think a person sees every characters view in this movie not just the focus of two people.
In the early stages of the movie it clearly shows robots as the protectors/police of the city, and the director clearly makes this understandable. Blonkamp also wants the people watching to see the transformation of life in this movie.
There are many aspects to this film, and much more to build on if a part two comes out. The intro of what the movie is about says it perfectly, In a futuristic society where a robot police force keeps crime at bay, a lone droid gains the power of artificial intelligence.
One watching the movies with that being said, knows what's they should be up for. The movie also goes back to teaching people, right from wrong and a little bit of how a child perceives the world when first viewing people and places, and how those people can/will be an influential person in their life.
To only see the criminal side of this movie like many have stated, you need to be an outsider looking in and focus on more than the violence in the movie. One person stated to violent, did you see it was rated R, no you are clearly correct this is not a kids movie.
