Review of Chaplin (2011) by Wilhelm V — 07 Jun 2011
A brilliant - if long - dramatisation of the life of Charlie Chaplin. Not only does it show how he became such an influential person in motion pictures through the silent age and into the talky age, it also touches on his many loves and marriages. It shows both his strengths and weaknesses as a man, as well as his obvious genius in the movie industry.
Played brilliantly by Robert Downey Jr, this is a film worth seeing if only to understand the early ages of film, and glimpses of how they were made and how wonderful they could be.
