Chaplin is a spirited movie with good acting all round but just seems to lack in certain areas, either it's length or just its lack of chemistry between certain actors.

No doubt Chaplin was amazing and deserves massive amounts of credit for what he did in the movie business. So no denying this movie needed to be made, and it compliments his life and skills well.

Robert Downey Jr is simply amazing, he is the only thing that really saves this movie, he puts himself out and there and potrays such an iconic character with confidence and respect. He truly is great in this movie, and for that alone it is worth watching.

The main crisis, which is Chaplin being deported, only happens towards the very end of the film and by doing this I believe that they limited the emotional reaction that could have been. Although they ended it well with actual footage of Chaplins great movies and the appreciation that Chaplin deserves; but I thought that they could have done this sooner and built it a little more, it felt very rushed.

All of the support cast did a great job but this movie is definatly all about Downey and his preformance, never misses a beat.

Worth watching, not the best thing out and I am sure that a more recent biopic of Chaplins life would probably be better; but watch it just for Downey!
