Review of Chaplin (1992) by John E — 26 Aug 2008
One of the best biopics I have ever seen. Robert Downey, Jr. perfectly embodies the voice, mannerisms, and slapstick physical humor of Chaplin as well as beautifully portraying the inner turmoil and angst of this immensely talented man.
Outstanding and unique direction combined with a moving and powerful score by John Barry immerse the viewer in Chaplin's world. My only complaint is I wish to see the four hour original cut that Richard Attenborough keeps talking about.
