Review of Chaplin (1992) by Peter D — 20 Sep 2008
:fresh: :fresh: :fresh: (out of four).
Robert Downey gives a spectacular performance which saves this otherwise routine biopic about the greatest silent screen genius..
Director Attenborough chooses to create a very old fashioned, cuddley look at the actor. I wish we could have seen him as a little more than just a temperamental innovator. Still, Downey is so good that the film does get a slight reccommendation..
