Review of Chaplin (1992) by Tyler L — 29 May 2009
I give "Chaplin" four stars, but Robert Downey Jr. deserves five stars. His performance as Chalie Chaplin was extraordinary. He truly captured the essence of Chaplin. He truly deserved his Oscar nomination (he may have even deserved to win.
) The film itself was very interesting. It was a very well done biopic. It was a little slow at parts and certain aspects were drug out longer than needed, but all in all, it was a very good film. The supporting cast, including Anthony Hopkins, Dan Aykroyd, Kevin Kline, Diane Lane, and Marisa Tomei, were great as well.
I consider "Chaplin" to be a good movie. But I consider Robert Downey Jr. in "Chaplin" to be a great performance.
