Review of Chaplin (1992) by Alysia V — 27 Sep 2009
Robert Downey Jr. captured so perfectly the essence of Charlie Chaplin in this film. For certain one of his best performances to date and was a delight to watch. A slightly scattered film the way it seems to jump around from scene to scene but a touching, well told story of the ups and downs of one of our greatest pop icons and legend of movies.
I always find movies like this to be so interesting and enjoy getting a glimpse into lives of people that have become so well known to us all. Just seeing the beginnings of film making and how they were put together was extremely interesting to me.
.we've come a long way. The supporting cast was also great, especially that of Kevin Kline as Douglas Fairbanks. It was fun to see so many recognizable faces. A terrific biopic tale and could not have been better acted.
Robert Downey Jr. was perfect in every way.
