I REALLY REALLY wanted to love this movie. It had soooo much potential. Its such a good premise, the visuals are amazing.

1. Politics - Its a really bad feminist J lens - All the men are inherently prone to evil and hatred, broken at their core and driven by an unexplained and irrational will to dominate women. aka a caricature of a left wing flawed thinking. And all women are inherently good, prone to kindness and charity but who step up to lead when evil men lead us astray. .....Yup its that level of insufferable horse **** So be prepared to suffer through that for 2 hours. Viewer be warned.

2. The female lead character; Daisy Ridley. Ahhhhhhhh Daisy Ridley. Acting to her is just opening her eyes wide and bug eyed and staring. Thats it. Thats every emotion, every feeling, every moment. Wide eyed staring. and then when the male character has an endeering unrequitted love arc, and is suffering tragically under the sci fi premise, how interesting and cool would it be to have a love story at the core. But NOPE!, heterosexual is toxic and evil!, this is a leftwing lunatic political propoganda, so whenever hes interested, shes goind to be cold and stone hearted, ungrateful and miserable, because THATS really appealing guys, like who doesn't want to be an insuffereble feminist? And Hollywood loves this character!. shes so in your face and unlikable and feminist that she is just cut and paste put into every female lead now. Shes not real, no one likes her, but you the audience are supposed to look up to her somehow. Personally I think shes designed for the lesbian community, or something like that, because has zero relatability to normal health heterosexuals.
