Review of Chaos Theory (2008) by Nizar B — 13 Jul 2008
Always been a fan of Ryan Reynolds, if you haven't seen BUYING THE COW, it's a must watch indie comedy starring Reynolds and Kevin O'Connel from TOMCATS. Anyway, this movie was definitely a fun watch. More standard of a plot than I'd like to admit but the characters go places other movies don't explore. It's more of a dark comedy than a standard comedy and that I like (refer to THE WHOLE NINE YARDS, DEATH AT A FUNERAL, and IN BRUGES). I think what I liked most about this movie was it's characters and their going through different emotions rationally no matter how irrational they seem. Denial, Acceptance, Redemption, Atonement. It batters us with the realization of life not being easy and us to live with that fact.
Performances are pretty fun, especially from Reynolds and Emily Mortimer.
