Review of Chaos Theory (2008) by Lars T — 11 Jul 2010
"Chaos Theory" is, quite plainly, a cardboard cut out drama. There's nothing that happens in this movie that you haven't seen before. It's about an efficiency expert Frank Allen (Ryan Reynolds) who lives by the clock.
So when he's 10 minutes late for work, his life goes through a series of events that eventually lead to it falling apart. The cast in this movie all play their roles well, but the plot is entirely too predictable.
The movies title comes from The Chaos Theory-which states that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. This is the wrong title for this movie. Chaos Theory is anything but chaotic; even in the climax, the characters never go over the top.
This movie begs for someone to add spice to the plot but instead it's just dull. If you decide to watch this movie, treat it as a well-acted string of cliches, because that's all it really is.
