Review of Chaos Theory (2008) by Trina — 26 Aug 2008
At first I was slightly taken back by the story, but once it got ironed out it became rather compelling. What I enjoyed most about the film was the story structure. It was well written and thought out which transended on screen.
Ryan Reynolds, who is an actor who I think it under-rated, once again shows that he's a weird actor but is very gripping on screen. I enjoyed his performance in the Nines which was difficult for him in three roles. Chaos Theory was a more emotional role for him, and one which he was very good at. He's had his critics but he was excellent in Chaos Theory as the lead.
The support cast also performed well, which lead to the audience being able to connect with all the characters, making the emotional surges well recieved. I liked it how even the other characters like Buddy and Susan had chances to show their emotions and let their personalities show, which again shows how well written and thought out the film is.
I'd definatley recommend it. It's very different to what you might expect and looking at other reviews people have felt the same, but rest assured, it'll be a pleasent suprise.
