In between being the 'Merc with the Mouth', preparing for Hal Jordan, and watching Sandra Bullock fend off eagle attacks; Ryan Reynolds like to support the independent film world. He goes off an works with a small director, small crew on a story that means something to him.

Made in 2007 but not released until 2008 (not in the UK mind, had to watch this on a Canadian DVD), "Chaos Theory" is one such film. Telling the story of an incredibly organized man who thanks to missing one ferry ride descends into a world of whim and chance.

It sounds on the surface to be quite cliched and perhaps it is in a way, but the thing that sets it apart is Ryan Reynolds. Excellently dealing with the events that happen to his character throughout the film, he shows once again his impeccable comedic touch and a penchant for drama as well.

Comparisons to fellow Canadian comedian Jim Carrey's "Yes Man" will be inevitable but "Chaos Theory" is a much deeper story, touching on themes of love and truth, amidst all the madness.

Overall then if you're in the mood for a thoughtful, funny comedy drama that has Ryan Reynolds driving a motorbike with no hands, "Chaos Theory" is the one for you.
