Review of Changing Lanes (2002) by Itzhak N — 27 Nov 2009
I don't understand how anyone could possibly have enjoyed this travesty of a film.
The first big problem started with the trailer. The trailer is a fast paced, action-packed and suspense filled advertisement for the film leaving you wondering how the entire story plays out. And I get it - that's what trailer's are supposed to do. However, what you're left with when you watch the film is a mediocre melodrama with a predictable plot and drab and unconvincing acting jobs by the films leading actors (namely Ben Aflec, which even though I expected to be bad still managed to amaze me).
I left the theatre feeling ripped off. Most of the people I heard walking out had comments like "what a waste of money", etc. The friend that I came with was so angry that he threw his popcorn and drink at the screen. Today, that seems like a little bit much, but at the time I only wish I had also purchased popcorn and a drink so that I could throw my trash at the screen.
Don't see this waste of a film.
