Review of Changing Lanes (2002) by Tyler M — 02 Feb 2008
A true Hitchcockian film from start to finish.
A young go-getter lawyer, and a father desperately trying to keep his wife and children from leaving him share a life changing experience on the FDR.
A dangerous game of cat and mouse joining the ranks of Insomnia and Strangers on a Train.
This is probably Jacksons most underrated and overlooked performance to date. And quite possibly his best... Okay probably not his BEST but still great.
Affleck is hit or miss, there's a number of actors that could do the job better.
If the film had ended about 5 minutes sooner with something a little more bleak, with the thought there is no hero and there is no villain, that every man is his own worst enemy, this film would have been amazing. Instead it's gift wrapped with a bow on top to keep the more casual audience happy.
It could have been five stars but four really isn't bad at all.
