Great story - hard to believe it's actually based on real-life events. The movie, unfortunately, is a train wreck. Everything is bad - the characters are paper-thin and thoroughly unconvincing, the acting is bad, the plot is muddled.

I can't believe such a weak movie comes from Clint Eastwood who's known for solid director skills. There are also a lot of historical inaccuracies that are really annoying, even I noticed and I'm far from a history junkie.

But come on, phrases like "serial killer", "pardon my French", etc. become common MANY decades after the 20's... did anyone even bother fact-checking the script before making the movie?? I would have given it another star if it ended where it should (15 minutes earlier), instead of launching into the coda that is completely redundant and sinks the already troubled movie completely.
