Review of Changeling (2008) by Bill B — 30 May 2011
How can this film be a true story? it seems so wildly corrupt and so hideously dark that its credibility comes into question. However unlikely it may seem this story happened and it is as dark a chapter in human history as Clint Easwood paints it for the screen.
Angelina Jolie is an interesting choice for the lead role, i'm so used to her in throwaway popcorn movies like Tomb Raider and Mr and Mrs Smith that I forget she is capable of actually acting in something serious with some degree of success.
Echoing One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest and some Noir this is a tale of trauma and oppression and the strength it takes to overcome these and emerge hopeful.
