Review of Changeling (2008) by Philip P — 05 Jan 2012
This is simply put: A great film. I loved every aspect of it. Some have said this is not as good as Eastwoods later films like Mystic River and Million Dollar Baby, but I cannot see how they can say this has less of an emotional impact than the others made in Eastwoods late resurgance.
Changeling showcases Jolies fine acting and is a beautiful film to look at. The re-creation of 1928 Los Angeles is amazing, but it is this story that draws us in. You bacome involved in this story, you are unsure as to how things will turn out and if justice will be served and if those responsible for the horrid things that happen will pay for their crimes.
The only thing I felt that could hurt the film was that the beginning was a bit on the slow side, but "Changeling" picks up and it is worth the waiting.
