Review of Chandni Chowk to China (2009) by Adam B — 18 Jan 2009
So I watched CC2C yesterday... not too impressed. Its like a typical David Dhawan/ Farah movie where u r not supposed to question the logic behind the script... Akki goes over the top with his portrayal of a bumbling fool.... Deepika is wasted ...so are Mithun da n Ranveer... the latter is lame in this movie... Deepika doesn't have much to do expect look pretty... tho she looks a natural in the fight scenes.. may be her sports background helped... she also kinda goes over the top with the "Saki" role... she is better as "Meow".. I hope she signs better movies in future where her acting skills her utilized... cos so far she has been following the Kat path... Kat can't act... Deepz is slightly better... if Deepz continues with movies like CC2C I will be forced to bracket her with Kat...
Some scenes/ lines r funny.... In one of the scenes Akki goes " Mujhe maara aur yeh behosh ho gayi! Isse kehte hein pyar!" :P (I found it funny... :P).
Songs r ok... the title song n Tere naina stand out...
The Chinese actors r good... Gordon L is good... so is the guy who plays Deepz dad.. in fact in some scenes the Chinese actors outshine their Indian counterparts.. that says a lot...
Kung Fu scenes r first rate... Gordon is awesome in the fight scenes.. good form... Akki does well... I want him to stop making comedies n act in a full fledged action flick... he is the only actor who can do justice to a movie based on martial arts... I really want some info on his fitness regime... that man looks fit!
Akki's fans will make this movie a hit.... wait for the dvd... not worth watching on the big screen...
N yess we will have a sequel! *faints*.
CC2C = 1 imperishable aloo + some subzi ( Ranveer, Mithun n co..) + some masala (Akki, action n songs..) + some noodles ( Gordon n company..) + 2 mirch ( Deepz).
Viola khana tayyaar! ( Disclaimer: Consume in restricted quantities; having too much can cause stomach upset n stress...).
