Review of Chained (2012) by Luis R — 29 Sep 2012
After watching the trailer you probably expect a very brutal, violent tale. This is not far from being truth in fact Chained is a gritty tale of blood and abduction, but there is more. A man is using his taxi voiture as bait to attract people inside it and lead them to his house lost in the country and slaughter them.
The movie centers the coming of age story of a boy abducted by the serial killer and grown as his slave. Jennifer Lynch directs smoothly and without exeeding with gore but unfortunately the whole story maybe lacks a bit in the part where the child grows, she prefers to cut a lot and go directly to the point where he is pre-adult.
The whole story make sense but lacks a bit to make sense and explain how in all the years the boy came out to be so submissive and never actually tried to kill or escape his. Probably there were more need to go deep in the relation between the two.
The ending of the movie will leave you speechless. A pretty good movie, sick and twisted but not as much as you probably legitimaly expect. People keep comparing this movie with critic loathed Bereavement (that actually features amazing trailer and good promotional materials).
