Review of Certified Copy (2010) by Rostek P — 01 Feb 2012
This is such a beautiful movie. it's not only intellectually stimulating and it doesn't simply make you part of the whole guessing game, but it creates two human beings that are full of contradictions and have to work out problems - with relatives, with each other, but above all within themselves.
juliette binoche is such a pleasure on screen. I love her tenderness, her high-strung, neurotic lyrical way of moving, speaking. the end: it's simply beautiful. I saw this movie about a month ago and I couldn't stop thinking about it, about all the possibilities and how all these imaginative circumstances define these characters and make them richer and more interesting.
it reminds of how we never know people and we always draw conclusions and we always make up stories in our heads and they're truth to us, they're how we perceive things and in the end it could be how things are or aren't, but it doesn't matter much.
I don't want to state how I perceive the whole narrative. I perceive in many ways, but what matters is that this movies made me think, entertained me and touched me.
