Review of Central Intelligence (2016) by Allan C — 04 Aug 2016
I did not enjoy this. However, to be fair, I'm not really the target audience. I find the humour of Kevin Hart gets old *very* quickly. However, if you enjoy his other films then this is more of the same.
It is a silly plot that half-way sets up the jokes which are mostly just laughing at the incompetence or ignorance of Hart's character. To me, those jokes don't land, but I'm pretty sure other people will enjoy this.
In a certain sense this movie simply does not require a review, the trailer is entirely honest. If the trailer made you want to see the movie, in that you laughed at the jokes in the trailer and could see yourself enjoying 90 minutes of similar fare, then this is the movie for you.
Personally I saw the trailer and wasn't terribly hopeful and my fears were confirmed within about 4 minutes, when the first joke is that the Rock's character is fat and small in high school (who knew working out could make you taller).
So if this "looks good" to you, then you're probably right.
