Review of Central Intelligence (2016) by Dragonsfoe . — 17 Aug 2016
What a ride along should be like.
Central Intelligience was a surprise that I did not expect walking into the theater. My expectations were low but the movie exceeded them. Hart, who seems overexposed now a days is used as he should, and the rock steals the whole thing.
The chemistry between the two leads is rock solid, but though the story may be simple it does have a solid emotional base, showing themes of bullying and identity. It is one of those films that will have the audience laughing at least every other minute of the runtime. It is full of surprises, just like the film itself.
Even though the action on screen is using cool techniques the action could have been filmed better. There are also revelations that are not fully explained about the film plot wise. It main story may be simple but is leveled out by its two leads and it's very funny scenes. The script could also been better, with a lot of rock dialogue being some stuff , though funny, people would never say.
Overall Central intelligence is a fun summer film. It is a great option to watch in the theater, in the dry landscape if Finding Dory is sold out.
Rating: 7.4 (B).
