Review of Central Intelligence (2016) by Brandon W — 11 Jun 2017
Central Intelligence is directed and co-written by Rawson Marshall Thurber, and it stars Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson in an action comedy about two high school students that grew up where they're at with Kevin Hart being an accountants and Dwayne Johnson being a CIA agent, which they met up together for the first time in years, and Kevin Hart helped him get to find something, even if he unintentionally got himself in a horrible situation that was way more than he can handle.
I wasn't really much for it as I felt like it's going to be one of those films that I'll think is fine, and is something to waste time on, but my mom on the other hand, is more excited about it.
So when she DVR it from HBO on DirecTV, I figured that when the right time comes in, I watch it with her just to get it over with. After watching it, Central Intelligence is exactly what I thought was going to be.
Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson work really well together as they are the best part of the film, and it's nice to see that it doesn't do the whole Kevin Hart shtick where he's small. The action scenes are good, and the jokes are relatively funny, although there are some jokes that die really fast.
The plot is predictable, which is what you see in a buddy cop comedy, and you can tell who the villain is pretty quickly. Central Intelligence is a good film that I'm not going to remember much about the film other then the main actors, but I was entertained by it.
