Review of Cemetery Man (1994) by Thomas W — 05 Feb 2004
Rupert Everret stars in this Michael Soavi film that I've been dying to see (No Pun Intended.) Francesco Dellamore Dellamorte which litterly translates to get this Francesco of Love of Death. Which is kinda creepy.
I honestly would have given this movie a higher rating had it not been for the fact that I was stopped at 10. I think an 11 would have been more appropriate as this film is one of those films that. As soon as you watch it you go 'WOW!'.
This film goes way beyond being just a horror story. Its an analogy of one man's lonleyness and his struggle to love. The amazingly beautifull Anna Falchi plays Francesco's love intrest in the film. Gnagi, who is Francesco's helper provides some great scenes and almost steel's the show. You can really feel for him and he also provides much of the comic relief.
There is some great gore in the film as well. And the f/x's are very well done. A film that I fell instantly in love with!
Here is one big problem that you may have in your search to find Cemetary Man aka Dellamore Dellamorte. It has been OOP for some time. So unless you can find a copy on Ebay or get lucky and find a copy at your local video store you may not get to see this one. But its well worth tracking it down and finding it.
