I think this movie can easily be classified as the Twin Peaks of zombie movies. The film almost runs like a dream, and what's really going on is opened to interpretation. There are some genuinely funny moments.
The incompetent detective comes to mind. "Good you have a gun! You can DEFEND YOURSELF!".
