Review of Cemetery Junction (2010) by Artemis C — 27 Dec 2010
Co-written and co-directed by Ricky Gervais, this is actually an above-average coming of age in small-town U.K. circa the 1970's tale. The town is Cemetery Junction and there is not much to do there other than work a mindless job and die. Three friends decide to run off and find something better to do with their lives, with one snag --- Christian Cooke has fallen for the rich daughter of Ralph Fiennes (owner of the company he works at) and she is engaged to his boss (Matthew Goode).
Sort of an unrealistic, fairy-tale type ending is needed to cut through that red tape and bring these two lovebirds together. All-in-all, a harmless and enjoyable film!
