Review of Cemetery Junction (2010) by Matt W — 15 Sep 2011
A pretty decent 70s set comedy from Merchant and Gervais, which plays on the divide in a group of mates between those who aspire to move out into the wider world and those happy to rot in their small home counties town.
The characters never gain much depth, although the film has some pretty astute things to say about the generation gap and miscommunications between parents and children. On the whole it just feels too slight and predictable to be more than passing light entertainment, despite a good cast.
