Review of Cellar Dweller (1988) by Brian C — 25 Apr 2016
Enjoyable horror fantasy about a comic book artist that brings a killer demon to life through her drawings. The demons develops a life of its own and starts killing everyone it can.
Cellar Dweller comes off like an episode of Tales from the Crypt but there is lots of fun to be had. The success of this movie lies in the characters themselves. The eclectic bunch that lives at the refuge all have very different artistic talents, and enables them to react differently to their situations. The best of course, being the detective/author; he is hilarious.
The creature effects aren't the best, but this type of movie shouldn't warrant that anyway.
All in all, lots of fun.
