Review of Celeste & Jesse Forever (2012) by Tara A — 14 Aug 2012
Jones and Samberg have an undeniable chemistry and their performances are completely believable. It's well-shot too... But the script wanders in strange directions. The entire debacle with Jones and Emma Roberts feels strangely out of place, tonally.
It just felt like a subplot from another movie. It's more dramatic than comedic, so don't anticipate an uproarious comedy in the vein of... I dunno... Anything these two have ever starred in. Having said all that, it's hard not to have admiration for Jones and her screenwriter efforts here.
The movie works whenever it's about Reshida Jones and Andy Samberg on screen together but, unfortunately, there's other stuff too.
