Review of Celeste & Jesse Forever (2012) by Cristian B — 12 Sep 2012
A hilarious and heartfelt romantic comedy, where the characters feel like real people and not contrived caricatures. Director Krieger and writers Jones and McCormack, bring a complexity to the characters, which allows them to be flawed and likable.
The actors are all stellar, but Samberg and Jones carry the movie and have great chemistry. Jones, in particular, really shines. She gives Celeste a likable charm, but also a stubborn honesty that is touching and funny.
The movie doesn't break new ground for romantic movies, but thanks to the strong cast and a sharp and sensitive script, the movie is one the best romantic comedies of the year!
