This film makes the concerted effort to transition from comedy in the beginning to flat-out drama at the end, with Rashida Jones effectively standing alone to express the catharsis of her relationship's end.

Both Samberg and the supporting cast make the intelligent decision to serve as sounding boards in letting Jones work her chops throughout.
