Review of Celeste & Jesse Forever (2012) by Sandy K — 17 Jul 2013
A sort of romantic comedy in reverse: it begins with a happily married couple who are best friends (adorably framed so you can see just how perfect they are for each other), and progresses through a separation where they naively attempt to remain best friends (with some truly funny moments).
The arc of their break-up and the conclusion are more realistic and honest than most romantic comedies, and I have to admire the filmmakers for that honesty; but if you are looking to be entertained, it ultimately was a bit of a downer.
