Review of Cedar Rapids (2011) by Ian B — 20 Nov 2011
A great character comedy that's just as heartfelt as it is raunchy. Ed Helms finally gets the chance to prove he can carry a movie and does a great job as the uptight, fish-out-of-water Tim Lippe. It doesn't hurt he's got a hilarious supporting cast to work with.
..including John C. Reilly, who once again proves he's one of the funniest men on the planet. Even when the film gets a little crazy towards the end they never take the easy way out by making the characters cartoonish.
Cedar Rapids was a total surprise and is one of the few recent comedies that's actually funny from start to finish. Definitely check this one out!
