Review of CBGB (2013) by Josh X H — 16 Jan 2014

It was pretty neat to see so many bands and figures from the CBGB scene brought to life through a veritable who's who of Hollywood B & C listers. You'll see a lot of familiar faces you know from smaller roles.

But otherwise, the story is kinda weak and the overall feel of the movie is overly romanticized, like it was written by the President of some teenage fanclub. The cast was really good and there's enough important music history there but the film as a whole just somehow doesn't pull it off.
