Review of CB4 (1993) by Murder C — 11 Jan 2011
A Californian rap group (lead by Chris Rock) decide to base their image on a local gangster named Gusto (Charlie Murphy) to become to world's most notorious gangster rappers. At first everything goes well for the group, but when Gusto finds out about the group, he breaks out of jail and goes out for vengeance.
CB4 is a pretty fun comedy poking fun at late 80's, early 90's gangster rap. Good cast and nice cameos, however the storyline is a bit sloppy. Phil Hartman, who stars as a conservative senator could have been used better in the story and the ending comes without any real climax.
Well worth watching if you know your rap history.
