Review of Caveman (1981) by Chris R — 26 Jan 2010
Hey it's Ringo Starr, loveable Scouse rogue - the funny one from the greatest band of all time!!! And his tasty wife off James Bond!! And is that Dennis Quaid as well? Wow! This must be brilliant!! But oh.
....wait.....it's utter crap. Any potential this might have had, perhaps playing on Ringo's charm and "fish out of water" persona and accent that made him the most watchable of The Beatles on the big screen, goes out of the window as he barely says a word throughout.
No one does. They just grunt and gesture, making the film reliant upon poor slapstick for it's gags. It fails on almost every level. Probably the career lows for all involved - amazing considering Ringo went on to do Thomas the Tank Engine and Quaid has Jaws 3D on his CV.
