Stupid 3D makes for a lesser experience, but if you can look beyond that mother of a nonsensical decision and bask in the warmth of Herzog's narrative genius and his awe inspiring subject matter - you will surely enjoy the experience wholeheartedly.
Could probably have been done better as a TV release, without the allure of increased ticket sales and dissatisfied customers.
