3D really shows how these extraordinary, almost animated, paintings were created around the cave's contours. And Herzog's narration and music are hugely atmospheric. Granted, it could have done with a lot more editing (including deleting the postscript that equates modern man with some albino crocodiles in a nearby tropical greenhouse - what?).

But definitely a one off, both as an experience and a film.
