Review of Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2010) by Lincoln S — 03 May 2011
Werner herzog takes us into the Chauvet cave in france which was discovered unintentionally by a group of trekker/explorers. because of a rockslide many years ago, the cave is in almost pure, untouched condition.
there are drawings rendered 30,000 years ago that tell a story of life during a time when all of Europe was covered by thick ice; and the bison, the ibex, cave lions and cave bears roamed freely. there are allusions and suppositions posited about the possible spritual influences at the heart of the culture that thrived for thousands of years.
this documentary offers a chance to watch various types of scientists ,confer and conjecture about our human past along with a surreal, fascinating journey through time.
