Review of Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2010) by Rafiq U — 25 May 2011
This would have been better if not done by Herzog, as said by someone I was talking to about this it would have made a good 30 minute History Channel special, but a 90 film is way too much. Also it just is SO Herzog from the strange "Master Perfumer" to French Einstein to albino alligators it's really just a dull movie.
Sure, the cave is cool for like 10 minutes and the 3D perspective is neat, however staring at 15 minutes of transitions of the same five paintings we saw is ridiculous. Also it's not a very big cave and it's not that cool in the first place.
However, if you love documentaries and like caves and cave paintings a lot then why not? Go see it for only 7 bucks, however it isn't that great. It's not bad, but it's not "breathtaking" either.
