Review of Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2010) by Jennifer L — 26 May 2011

I love documentaries and I love caves. I really like documentaries about caves. However, this may have been the worst I have ever seen. The 3-D was terribly done, and it made me question why anyone would want to make a documentary 3-D in the first place.

Instead of having features leap out in an attractive and interesting way, the 3-D portion of the film focuses on details that make it difficult to take in the whole picture and discern what is really going on.

Besides the 3-D being shoddy, the quality of the documentary itself is atrocious. The film crew emphasizes how they are getting an exceedingly rare opportunity to go inside the cave, but when they get there, there is somehow a modern doorway and metal walkways placed throughout it.

Come on, guys. There have been tons of people in this cave before you. The interviews were sometimes painful to watch (interviewer: "did the lions scare you in your dreams?" Circus performer: "No.

" Interviewer: "So the lions were not alive?" Why are we talking about the circus performer's dreams in a documentary? Wait, why is there a circus performer in a documentary about caves?) This is the only movie I have ever walked out of.
