As a fan of Jean Auel's novels, I was so excited to see this documentary about the Chauvet cave in France. This cave holds the oldest known paintings - they are 30,000 years old! There are even prehistoric human and animal footprints in the cave.
The documentary was done in 3D and Herzog is a master. It really was eerie to see these ancient artworks from the beginnings of humanity. I loved this documentary and I truly hope that this cave and the others like it will be safely preserved.
