Review of Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2010) by Juan José A — 21 Jun 2011
Travelling to Kansas City for the day to see this in 3D was time well spent. The 30,000+ years-old Chauvet Cave drawings are stunning, and Werner Herzog does a good job letting the viewer appreciate these without his personality becoming the focus of the film.
At times, I felt like I could reach out and touch the rough, jagged crystal calcium carbonate that seems to cover almost every surface of the cave. And the drawings look as if one might meet the artist sometime and somewhere nearby.
