As an insight into an incredible piece of history that we would never otherwise be able to experience, Cave of Forgotten Dreams heartily succeeds in its aim, as Werner Herzog's passion for this project leaps from the screen further than any 3D trickery ever could.
However if you don't have any invested interest in rocks, caves or ancient artwork then the feature length running time may become arduous, as the film is somewhat repetitive.
