Review of Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2010) by Catherine M — 10 Dec 2011
In "Cave of Forgotten Dreams", filmmaker Werner Herzog takes you to the only place you can see the oldest artwork in the world, the 20,000 year old Cro-Magnon paintings of Chauvet Cave, which was discovered in 1994.
This documentary is both important and interesting, in which it showcases impressive paintings and fossilized cave-bear skulls. I still have no idea what is with the ending of the documentary that features albino alligators.
Wven with this way of making some kind of allegory, it is just a weird way to end a movie like that.
