Review of Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2010) by Mallory A — 12 Apr 2012
The latest documentary from director Werner Herzog is a cinematic masterpiece, one of the greatest documentaries of the past decade. Every on-screen appearence of the cave paintings is truly mesmerising.
The scene with a man playing the Star Spangled Banner is absolutely hilarious. The real highlight is the 3D. In what I think is the best use of technology so far, we see the real depth the cave paintings had, which gives you the feel that you're actually in the cave with Herzog and company, and the scene in which a man demonstrates how Ug the caveman fired arrows is outstanding.
I went to see this twice. That is how brilliant I was.
