Review of Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2010) by Gavin P — 22 Jun 2013
A decent documentary on the amazing prehistoric cave paintings in France - but I kept comparing it to his 'Encounters at the End of the World', which I enjoyed much more. I think it's because the paintings are astounding, but they really only take about 10min to see them all, so there's lots of long, silent shots of just the walls - I think it would've worked much better as a 30min TV episode, rather than a 85min film, especially when it's padded out with asking philosophical questions to French scientists!
