Review of Cavalcade (1933) by Leighton T — 12 Oct 2010
I'm not sure if this film won due to politics or because the vote was split between better films, but there are at least one or two movies that were made in 1933 that are not only better known, but are just better movies overall.
Seems to me that there are far too many films that were made in the first few decades of the 20th century that essentially take the audience on a history lesson that ends with the current year. This film just happened to loosely tie them together through a single family.
And yet, at the end of the film, I failed to see a solid point, even though they tried to feed one to me. No real focus, no real impression.
